Role description

Reall is appointing an exceptional and distinctive Chair of the Board, as well as two Trustees to enter into an engaged and proactive relationship with the organisation, providing oversight and guidance for our future strategy and sustainability. Our vision to transform the affordable home market in Africa and Asia includes a blend of housing, finances and emerging market expertise. We are looking to our Board to provide strategic oversight and leadership across these sectors to drive the organisation to meet its ambitious goal.

The new Chair and Trustees will be individuals of exceptional calibre and will bring a track record of leadership, and a commitment to international development, affordable housing and social enterprise. S/he will bring strategic vision, excellent communication skills, and an understanding of robust governance. Along with these core skills, we are particularly looking for those with the following skillsets: advocacy; marketing and communications; financial governance and investment management; affordable housing, construction and real-estate planning.

As unremunerated and voluntary roles, trustees are expected to dedicate a minimum of 10 days a year to their board responsibilities, as well as a willingness to travel to visit partners where possible. The Chair is expected to dedicate a minimum of 20 days a year.
