This housing project served members of the Sitio Mahayag Alliance of Structure Household Homeowners Association Inc in Mandaue City. Seventeen housing units were constructed on a parcel of land that was acquired through a Community Mortgage Program (CMP). The community members had previously been living in low lying areas of Mandaue City, that were highly susceptible to flooding and unsuitable for development.
The project comprised of two-storey row housing units constructed on plot sizes of 28 square metres. The houses were built incrementally, with an initial core unit that formed a structural frame and roof, with basic plumbing for household water, a septic tank and electrical wiring. Doors, windows, partitions, and other fixtures could then be added in at the homeowners’ discretion. Housing finance in the form of a loan was provided through LinkBuild to allow each household to purchase their new home.
Clients estimated to sit between 31st and 40th percentiles of incomes in Mandaue
